N: You walk, you move with your body strength. As far as I researched, you say that you try to discover yourself. You live on an island where you walk for kilometres without a road. What does the island mean to you?

D: Actually even though I walk thousands of kilometres, I walk isolated and far from people. I don’t have much communication. While I travel by walking there are times when I don’t see people for ten days. It’s actually the same on the island. I don’t see anybody. The island is actually a place where I always isolate myself.

N: Why do you isolate yourself?

D: I love loneliness and being on my own. People are afraid of being alone. It seems like it’s very depressive but I enjoy being alone. I find a lot of things to do when I’m on my own. I can stay on my own and think about the things that I can create. I’m able to find more motivation in myself. And that’s why I love the isolated life so much. I rather life on the island to city life, after travelling on foot, being in the city is so chaotic to me. After all that silence, Buyukada was one of the most beautiful place to balance it.
