“we always put things in front of us. kindness and volunteering are not such things. It is something that should be with us in every moment of our lives, including times that we aren’t doing well.”
N: Isn’t it sharing the necessary knowledge, sharing what you have on your table? At this stage, why do you think such a business area became necessary?
E: I think in this area, in terms of sharing the kindness, in social responsibility, in civil society and in social entrepreneurship, when we show the kindness that volunteers did and project it, even on social media or on digital media or on television, we come across with an applause naturally. This is something that we have to do as a culture and as humans. This is our responsibility.
N: Are you talking about the desire of approval?
E: Yes, but this is also our responsibility on the other hand. I mean it is our responsibility as a citizen, as a human… Our sector just needs being a bit more visible. People need to understand that they can build a career in this sector too. I also try to explain this on the other hand as well. “I’ll volunteer when I finish school”, “I’ll volunteer when I get accepted into a university”, “I’ll save some money, then I’ll donate it somewhere, I volunteer”… We always put things in front of us. Kindness and volunteering are not such things. It is something that should be with us in every moment of our lives, including times that we aren’t doing well.
